Health care delivery in Obadan in the past rested mainly on Orthodox method. The nearest hospital was in Benin City which is about 38km far from Obadan.

In the early fifties, there used to be some visiting doctors from Benin City. Their agents would announce their coming and sick people would wait for them for treatment. This practice was on till 1960.

In 1979, Dr. Akenzua director of Institute of Child’s Health of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), choose Obadan as a place to visit. He goes there every Thursday to diagnose and treat children’s diseases. Serious cases are carried by him to the UBTH for treatment. He does all these things free of charge. It might be in future he would help to tell the government to site a Health Clinic Centre at Obadan. Mr. Francis Amadasun helped to equip the clinic by donating the sum of one thousand Naira.
